Love

creatingaquietmind:

I was taught when I was young that if people would only love one another, all would be well with the world. This seemed simple and very nice; but I found when I tried to put it in practice not only that other people were seldom lovable, but that I was not very loveable myself.

All advice is autobiographical. YMMV. (V2)
Made some updates to my previous list. Thought “stay out of debt” and “get yourself a calendar” could be bundled into “Be Boring,” and make room for “Side Projects” and “Be Nice.”
New lineup:
Steal like an artist.
Don’t wait until you know who you are to start making things.
Write the book you want to read.
The Secret: do good work and put it where people can see it.
Geography is no longer our master.
Use your hands.
Side projects and hobbies are important.
Be nice. (The world is a small town.)
Be boring. (It’s the only way you get work done.)
Creativity is subtraction.
